THINKING TO.....STOP THINKING

Thinking thinking thinking.....

The mind screams from inside... STOOOOPPPPPPP!!!!

But still it goes on and on..... what am I talking of? I am talking of thoughts.
Our soul companions in life. Our friends, our guardian, our evrything.....

They are even more loyal to us than our shadow..... the shadow leaves us in the dark, but these thoughts follow us to the grave, may be even after that.

But aren't we just a lump of thoughts and nothing else? Our existense is nothing, but a physical representation of the subtle thoughts. We are what we think, we are also what we don't want to think because in that too we have thought it.

There are phases in one's life when he is so exhausted of thinking that he just wants to run from himself, wants to run from his thoughts , but they don't leave him... he runs from here to there .. does all the things that he thinks will get him rid of it, but the truth remains the same..... in the silence of night when he is alone, the thought haunts him again.... he screams to himself ..... STOOOOPPPPPP!! but .. sorry!! says the thought and keeps on hammering the mind.

We don't run from it if its a thought that gives us joy.Rather we love to live in the thoughts as they are our small little world of satisfaction, celebrations and happiness. But when the truth shatters the dream and we face the reality that the thoughts were wrong and the sweet thoughts are replaced by the stony truth, mind does not accept the truth and runs from it.

But, are we not becoming slaves of our own selves, our own thougths? Are we not being directed every moment in a impulse to do whatever the mind says or directs us to. Isn't there any way to be the master and not the slave of our thoughts. They say.. POSITIVE thinking.. But I question.. why to even base yourself on the thoughts even if they are positive... Can't we move above the thoughts????

Well, that's the question that has dragged so many of the Yogis,Sadhus and Sidhaks of the yesteryears. They understood that the thoughts are just a veneer that drive us crazy the entire of our lives and keep us away from the ultimate truth. We are wholely entangled in the thoughts as they are based only on the 5 senses and are a food of satisfaction for the senses that we seldom think of anything deeper than our thoughts and our five senses.

In the struggle to overcome my thoughts or I should say undergo my thoughts, I found the breath and consciousness as two easy tools. What I am trying to say here is that every moment we are doing something or the other, like a mechanical robot. For eg: when we are walking we seldom consciously move or hands and legs. They are not planned movements. Its just happens. The left hand moves with the right leg and the vice versa...... But, all that happens every second, every millisecond is a result of the automatic programming that the mind has been doing since the moment we were born. How would it be if we are conscious about our breath and about ourselves, about our each action, about each impulse in our mind?

That would result in, the mind being always concentrated on the breath and conscious of its action. It's not going to wander here and there. Its the simplest way to know the truth... that is through Prana through Breath.

So next time you breath.. feel relaxed and feel the beauty of the breath and be conscious of your existence and your every action. That would in turn make you conscious and would tie your mind to the breath rather that running here and there. And the day you have mastered the art of conquering the mind, you would no more need to run from the vicious thoughts and the mind shall be as calm as never been before.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti... This was for the THOUGHTS :)
