Sex- The pure expression of love…
‘Sex’ is one of the most magical words the English dictionary has ever had…. This is the word that draws all the attention of the people around us. It has something special about it for sure.
When I was a kid, and petty much innocent and ignorant ….one evening after my evening play in the park I rushed into the room where my Dad and Mom were getting ready for a party.. I immediately popped out the question that was bothering me.. I asked, “Mom, what is sex?”… I still remember Mom being shocked as she surely didn’t expect this question from a 10 Yr old and looked at Dad and calmly answered, “Son, Sex means gender… it means whether you are a male or a female”. That was a smart answer of a smart Mom :) …..
I smiled and joyfully adding another word to my vocabulary went to my room hopping… hardly, did I know that even though the answer was technically correct, it was not the answer that I actually would know with due time.
Time passed by and revealed to me the meaning of this magical word.. my small mind leaped into its own imaginations and confusions but time ones again acted as the teacher.
How many of us would recollect that secret moment when each of us typed on the Google search the word ‘Sex’ to know what the world has in store for us. Well, those were the sweet little memories that each one of us pass in the process to become an adult from an innocent child.
Today I question myself again the same question “What is Sex?”…. is it just a term that excites us or is it a term that is having a much deeper meaning inside it.
When two beings fall in love with each other.. when their souls feel the ecstasy of being together, then there comes into picture the expression to their love, where they want to unite.. when their two souls combine to be a single soul…. It is the purest expression of love if there is a purity in both their heart….. Why does the term “Make love” stand as an synonym to ‘Sex’ .. the reason being this is the ultimate mode through which the two souls unite to make a single entity that is purer than each of them as it is enveloped with a veneer of Love.
The Indian mythology states that many spiritual practioners, sadhus and yogis had to lead a chaste life because the sex hindered their spiritual progress. But, I feel this happens because the existence of Love lacks between the two.. it becomes a mechanical process that is for the fulfillment of Lust. But, anything wrapped in the sweetness of purity and love can’t be impure.
Today our minds have grown impure, as we look at the physical aspects of it, and have perverted the soul. We look at the body just as a need to satisfy the inner lust, but if this union is with the person you are in love with, it is ought to be spiritually elevating and gratifying.
In India, many temples have in them postures and statues of Gods and Goddesses in the postures of making love, which are more than 1000 yrs old. These statues being in the purest places of spiritual worship justify the point I am trying to make. Animals and humans differ in this aspect.. For the former, its just a part of its existence, but for the later it can be a symbol of spiritual elevation and union with someone’s else’s soul.
So, let’s change our outlook where we are no more preys of lust and respect and understand the purity of Love and the act of making Love.

Yes it was different to write on the act of love.. but everything has an expression to itself, and if I most of the time write of love, I think this expression was needed to be expressed.
